Unused School Supplies
If any of you have been wondering what happens to those unused school supplies that teachers donate at the end of the school year, take a peek at the news clip from Fox 9 news. KEC Open House
Our back-to-school night will be held on Thursday, September 3 from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Students may come and meet their teachers and drop off their school supplies. Information packets will be mailed home to all families in August.
Minnesota Reading Corps
Would you love to help children grow their reading skills? succeed in school and get extra support?
If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve
as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps at Kaposia Education Center!
In addition to extensive training, tutors will receive on-site support from specially trained school mentors.
Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents and retirees. Tutors earn a living allowance (biweekly before taxes: $544 for full time member/ $272 for part-time member), educational award ($5,730 for full time member/ $2,865 for part-time member), federal student loan forbearance, and other benefits.

FREE Breakfast and Lunch for Kids and Teens
Summer meals at no cost are available to all children 18 years and younger in the community. Just show Up every Monday through Thursday from June 1 - August 6 at Kaposia. Meals will not be available from June 29 through July 2, 2015. Adults may purchase a breakfast for $2.10 and a lunch meal for $3.70. Breakfast is served from 8:00 - 8:30, and lunch is served from 11:00 - 11:30.
K camp will be offered to all incoming Kindergarten students on August 17-20 from 9:00 - 11:30 AM. This program will help your child prepare for Kindergarten. Confirmation letters will be mailed home to all families in July.
Summer Learning Academy
Summer Learning Academy will begin on Monday, July 13 through Thursday, August 6, 2015. Hours will be 8:45 AM - 12:45 PM every Monday through Thursday.
SSP Public Library Summer Reading Program
The South St. Paul Public Library is offering several reading programs for all students for the summer. Register online via the library events calendar: tinyurl.com/ssplibraryregistration.
Kaposia Library Open This Summer
The library will be open in the summer on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, It's a long summer, please encourage your students to read during the summer and use our library to do it!
